Lehigh Valley Autism Walk 2010
Had a great time walking in the autism walk today! whohoooo team Silas! Hope even more people will walk with us next year!
Feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD)Took the life of our cat Scoob...
Scooby Doo was our 8 year old's cat,she picked the song for this short little video. Please watch all the way to the end to see signs of FLUTD...... they were inseperable! Scooby showed NO signs of being sick till the day he died, and then it was to late.Scooby was born with bad back legs, but that did nto stop him from climbing trees and killing mice and birds and chipmunks! and from climbing on our roof. Any way they day he died he was growling when he woudl try to walk, and we thought his legs were hurting, but each hour that went by he got worse, started throing up this very foul smelling yellowish/brown liquid, and became very mopey, so we rushed him to the emergy after hours vet clinic and they were able to remove the blockage but a few hours later he went into cardiac arrest and they could not bring him back..:*(
Noelle Turns 8!
I can not believe Noelle is 8! Her birthday was the begining of April.... where does the time go...:*(..here are some pictures from her special day!

World Autism Awareness Day Is April 2, 2010
The diagnosis of autism and autism-related disorders is rising all over the world, so the United Nations General Assembly declared April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day in 2007. Famous building around the world will change their lights to blue - including the pylons here at LAX, and look for blue candles in windows.
Silas was diagnosed with PDD-NOS which is is a condition on the Autism spectrum that has those with it exhibiting some, but not all, of the symptoms associated with classic autism. Those with PDD-NOS behave like those... with classic autism in many ways. First, they are all different (meaning one person with PDD-NOS doesn't act exactly like another; the same holds true for classic autism). Those with PDD-NOS are different from others on the spectrum in one specific way: While they may exhibit some symptoms of those conditions, they don't fit the bill closely enough to fully satisfy all criteria set by the experts.Consequently, those with PDD-NOS are sometimes thought to have a "milder" form of autism, though this may not be technically true. One symptom may be minor, while another may be worse.
