Feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD)Took the life of our cat Scoob...
Scooby Doo was our 8 year old's cat,she picked the song for this short little video. Please watch all the way to the end to see signs of FLUTD...... they were inseperable! Scooby showed NO signs of being sick till the day he died, and then it was to late.Scooby was born with bad back legs, but that did nto stop him from climbing trees and killing mice and birds and chipmunks! and from climbing on our roof. Any way they day he died he was growling when he woudl try to walk, and we thought his legs were hurting, but each hour that went by he got worse, started throing up this very foul smelling yellowish/brown liquid, and became very mopey, so we rushed him to the emergy after hours vet clinic and they were able to remove the blockage but a few hours later he went into cardiac arrest and they could not bring him back..:*(
Noelle Turns 8!
I can not believe Noelle is 8! Her birthday was the begining of April.... where does the time go...:*(..here are some pictures from her special day!

World Autism Awareness Day Is April 2, 2010
The diagnosis of autism and autism-related disorders is rising all over the world, so the United Nations General Assembly declared April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day in 2007. Famous building around the world will change their lights to blue - including the pylons here at LAX, and look for blue candles in windows.
Silas was diagnosed with PDD-NOS which is is a condition on the Autism spectrum that has those with it exhibiting some, but not all, of the symptoms associated with classic autism. Those with PDD-NOS behave like those... with classic autism in many ways. First, they are all different (meaning one person with PDD-NOS doesn't act exactly like another; the same holds true for classic autism). Those with PDD-NOS are different from others on the spectrum in one specific way: While they may exhibit some symptoms of those conditions, they don't fit the bill closely enough to fully satisfy all criteria set by the experts.Consequently, those with PDD-NOS are sometimes thought to have a "milder" form of autism, though this may not be technically true. One symptom may be minor, while another may be worse.

Watch Dog
Eden fell playing basketball at church and knocked herself out,she gave herself a pretty good concussion, she doesnt remeber falling,or talking to me when she came back around or having Brother Notestien trying to look in her eyes. She could not stay awake on the way to the ER but they looked her over..kind of..lol.. and by that time she was begining to act more like herself again, laughing and skiping and running, but she says her head still hurts and she is really sleepy. He told us to keep a eye on her tonight and wake her up a few times to see how she is and to do a follow up this week with her Ped..
Well I made the appointment with her Ped for today and he said No Recess or gym till he gives the ok,no school tomorrow,he said she has a pretty bad concussion, but because he gave her a through neurological exam.(way better than what they did at the ER!)and she passed, he did not feel she needed a cat scan.but we are supposed to wake her up again tonight and watch for any changes in behavior. And she is not to rare or bump her head for who knows how long.
Eden resting on the couch with Vader,He never lays on the couch, he likes to lay at my feet or on the tiles where it is cool...he must sense she is not feeling the greatest...:(....he has laid there with her since she woke up.

Lesson Learned~
Sunday was a sad day..:*( Gabe went upstairs to see his parakeets before we left for church and was in such a hurry he forgot to shut the door behind him and the cat came in and took the parakeet he was holding right off his finger and killed it.he was SOOO upset, he cried all the way to church and the next day.so now i am on the hunt for another baby parakeet to keep the other one company he is missing his mate and in my search someone offered me 3 cockatiels! cage toys and all! she paid 250 for all 2 birds! and gave them to me for free.two are babies and one is 5 or 6 at least now till we can find another parakeet, he wont be so lonely.they have been chirping to each other all morning! ~Gabe says he wants to save up his allowance and get one from the pet store...he feels so bad...he kept saying..im so ashamed of myself, and that he tries to save her but he just wasn't fast enough.:*( lesson learned i guess..make sure you shut the door!
The Darker blue one is the one who met the unfortunate demise :(
Meet the cockatiel's Snowy,Sunshine,Petey, and the lonely Blueberry

Triumph & Tragedy
Today we had a triumph & a tragedy....The triumph being Eden found Silas's long lost blanket! he lost it MONTHS ago, and has since became attached to a blue blanket with flowers, but when he saw his horse blanket it was like two old friends seeing each other for the first time in years! i had to wash it because it was outside.Amazingly it came clean! The first thing he did when it came out of the dryer was stick the corner in his ear.....ahhh just like old times!
And then the Tragedy...Silas has a BAD habit of sitting to close to the TV well he was goofing off and fell right into the corner and got him self a nice indent in between his eyes!

Lehigh Valley Walk Now For Autism 2012
***SAVE THE DATE***
We would love it if you could come out and walk with us on April 17 2012.We have participated for the last 2 years and the kids have a blast! If you want to join our team just click on this link http://www.walknowforautismspeaks.org/lehighvalley/team4silas and click the the join team button...its that easy! Or if you can come out and walk with us but want to donate to a great cause go to the top of the page and click donate and then support a walker and you can use my name or Silas's name.
The latest statistics from the Centers for Disease Control indicate that as many as 1 in 110 children have some sort of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The study done by the CDC has monitored 8 year old children across the U.S. since 2000.More surprising is that the study makes mention of a 57% increase in Autism disorders since 2002.
Can you imagine hearing the words"your child has autism"?In a split second, life-as you know it-has changed. For a different family every 20 minutes, tomorrow will never be the same.
By participating in this event, you are helping to change the future for all who struggle with autism.By walking, you are getting us one step closer to finding what causes autism, how to prevent and treat it,and ultimately a cure so no family ever hears those words again.Until then,we walk to find answers and raise awareness about the devastating toll that autism has had on families like ours.Together,we will find the missing pieces.
Silas was diagnosed with PDD-NOS,possibly change diagnoses to Aspergers when he is older...both of which which are on the Autism spectrum, and AHDH
Thanks so much and hope to see you there!
